PUNCTURE POINTS - Where energy meets the everyday is an interdisciplinary art project that explores the intersection of energy and everyday life at the Western Cape.

The research behind the project was driven by two main questions:

What are the connection patterns and narratives between energy, people and society?

We invite artists to submit proposals of works based on and inspired by the Puncture Points research. We are looking for work across all media including but not limited to: sculpture, mixed media, interactive media, painting, photography, graffiti, performance, music, dance, etc. We are also willing to support local art initiatives and show documentation during the exhibition of Puncture Points. All applicants must answer all questions listed on the application form, provide us with a detailed description of proposed work as well as a budget. Please download the application form.

The winning artists will be awarded with up to R30 000 each to create their proposed works. These works will then be showcased at the Puncture Points exhibition in the Cape Town harbour from March 11th until March 25th 2017.

Burgan Cape Terminals and supported by Gulfstream Energy.

The associated partners are African Centre for Cities, Transnet National Ports Authority, Thebe and the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
